Hannah

Starting at Club just after COVID rocked our worlds, Hannah brought an attitude of compassion, and a feeling that all our members should be heard. Each day she starts with a check-in to see how every primary member’s day was at school. By speaking with each member she has built relationships founded on interest, positivity, and creating great Club days; and she has grown quite the following of fans along the way. By building a foundation at the beginning of the day around the possibilities of what could be, and providing the space to move past school day struggles, she helps our members build resiliency and make decisions to focus on positive outcomes. This process to meet each member where they are every day comes from a confidence that she carries through all her work. It impacts how she works with a larger group- making sure individuals aren’t lost in the crowd.  And it helps her maintain a sense of calm which allows her to move her members in the directions they need to go, to keep them safe and successful. Through her confidence and her ability to build relationships, her programs have been developed with the interests and the capabilities of our members as the focus. This creates excitement from our members to be at Club and to participate.

While she is driven, and takes her role at Club seriously, it would be inaccurate to say that this staff member is not about fun.  We all know how the day can wipe us out, especially on a day when all the kiddos seem to be struggling, but instead of being wiped out Hannah steps to the plate as our resident Master of Chaos. Creating songs, silly outfits with paper bags, and putting clothes on backwards, she encourages her peers and our members to continue to see a lighter side of life and provides a much-needed boost to morale on those difficult days. With an attitude that won’t give up and a passion for chaos, Hannah strives to make all our members feel appreciated, to make her peers see the joy in our work, and a passion to meet everyone where they are.

We are very excited to be nominating Hannah for this award because Making an Individual Impact is the core of who Hannah is and how she approaches her work at Club.
