Club Member Corner:
Rylan N.
Rylan started at Club in the winter of 2020 at the Castle Rock Clubhouse and although Rylan’s start to Club Life may have been considered a bumpy one, he has adjusted well. Rylan’s ability to face unforeseen changes, like working with new staff members or moving to a different Clubhouse, has shown just how resilient he truly is.
During his Club involvement, Rylan has challenged the staff to make Club a place where anyone can come, be their true self, and not only feel welcomed, but be welcomed! Rylan is a very outspoken and honest individual, which played a huge part in knowing exactly what he needed, when he needed it, and how to best make the program right for him! Not only has Rylan been able to regularly participate in his own group’s activities, but he has excelled into also being a teen helper for our primary group activities! He has even helped staff out with projects like redecorating the classroom.
Rylan is a very opinionated individual; he will never fail to let you know that the reason he cannot go outside with the group for some fresh air is because he “hates air”. Interacting with Rylan is always an experience since he has some very humorous and strong opinions that you would just have to sit down and listen to. He definitely keeps the staff on their toes with his philosophical questions and keeps us laughing with his humor!
The past two years with Rylan at the Castle Rock and Medicine Crow Clubhouses have been more than enjoyable. We are excited and thrilled to have Rylan as part of our Club program.
