Leona

Leona started attending the Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County in 2015, now 8 years later she is making her mark as the 2023 Yellowstone County Junior Youth of the Year.

Most days, Leona is at the Club with a glowing smile, friendly demeanor and lending a helping hand to staff, her peers and younger Club members.  Leona recently shared that Club has provided her with a “second home filled with a safe and welcoming environment, adults who care and the feeling that you are never alone in the trials you face.  Being at Club makes me happy.”

Leona credits the Boys & Girls Clubs for helping her make connections with friends and realize how she may benefit the world.  She says, “Club gives me thinking time, social time and learning time.”  Since Elementary school, Leona has aspired to be an attorney and does not seem to waiver in her hopes to help others.  Leona’s positive attitude, kind personality and bright aspirations make her a wonderful recipient for the 2023 Yellowstone County Junior Youth of the Year award.
