Reestablishing Services in the Heights
Annie Hasiak, Vice President, Culture & Innovation
2024 has arrived and as everyone plans their goals for the year, we here at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County, want to provide an update on a goal we have had since 2020. We are thrilled to announce that the Castle Rock Clubhouse, located in the Castle Rock Middle School, has reopened its doors to serve youth on the west side of the Heights.
Since the height of the pandemic and the resulting staffing shortages felt throughout Billings, the Castle Rock Clubhouse has been closed, leaving students attending Alkali Creek, Eagle Cliffs and Sandstone Elementary schools, as well as teens from Castle Rock Middle School, without a Clubhouse to call home afterschool. We are very excited to be back and providing a trauma-informed experience to those who need it most. We have been committed to the Heights community since 2005 and have expanded our program to include teens from Skyview High School. Over the years, the Castle Rock Clubhouse has developed many great programs including GhostChasers, Youth for Unity, Kids in the Kitchen, and established the Family Night events that we continue to host across the organization.
We are especially thankful to School District 2 for welcoming us back and supporting the transportation of kids from their schools to the afterschool program, as well as the community support we have received that has allowed us to reopen our doors. If you are interested in touring the Castle Rock Clubhouse or would like to learn more about our impact in the Heights, please reach out to by calling 406-245-4457.
